Danish jewellery brand Georg Jensen has teamed up with Copenhagen designer Stine Goya this season to reimagine its iconic Daisy range. The striking new series includes colourful necklaces, earrings and bracelets that reinterpret the original design but in a new refreshed way.
Georg Jensen’s Daisy collection was first designed in the 1940s and was inspired by a daisy-shaped brooch that Her Majesty Margrethe II the Queen of Denmark received at birth. It has since become an iconic design across the country, not only for its soft and delicate look, but for its cultural meaning too.
“The Georg Jensen Daisy really takes me back to my childhood in Denmark,” says womenswear designer Stine Goya. “It’s such an iconic emblem of our country. I remember so clearly rifling through my grandmother’s jewellery box as a child and playing dress-up with her Daisy pieces. With the Georg Jensen team we wanted to reimagine this classic and iconic design, exploring how to bring the Stine Goya universe of colour and print to the collection. We decided to create both new everyday pieces and wow-factor statement pieces built upon the Georg Jensen Daisy legacy.”
Danish designer Stine Goya launched her eponymous label in 2006 at a time when the Danish fashion scene was synonymous with minimalist design and muted palette. Today, drawing on inspiration from the design and art worlds, her collections are built on a strong foundation of a vivid colour scheme, flattering cuts, simple yet quality fabrics and bespoke hand-drawn prints.
