The EcoChic Design Award 2015/16 is giving sustainable fashion fans a peek into the makings of its photo shoot for the competition’s 10 finalists and their minimal waste collections.
Having been selected from hundreds of entries of emerging sustainable designers, each finalist has designed a six-piece collection using waste-reducing design techniques including zero-waste, up-cycling and reconstruction. Each will attend the grand final in January where they will compete for career changing prizes including the chance to design an up-cycled collection for luxury brand, Shanghai Tang.
Representing the UK in the final are two designers Sara Kiani and Annie McKinnon, both students of London’s Central Saint Martins. There is also a third British designer, Amy Ward, who representing Germany after studying at ESMOD Berlin.
As finalists, one of each of their designs was shot by photographer Tim Wong and modelled by competition Ambassador Bonnie Chen.
