Next week’s Summer Edition of Who’s Next is set to unveil the Spring/Summer 2015 collections amidst a packed schedule of special events as it invites Turkey as its guest nation.
2,000 clothing and accessory brands will exhibit at Porte de Versailles Paris in four main areas: Fame, Who’s Next Ready-to-Wear, Premiere Classe and Who’s Next Accessories.
Along with the seasonal catwalk show, trends forum, and conferences, the event will showcase the new Turkish design scene through exhibitions, performance art, an exclusive selection of Turkish brands, and a pop-up store of the countries unique crafts.
The Turkiss Delight Party will kick start the event with an outside cocktail party hosted by Kaan Duzara and the Kurhan sisters, with a performance from Yazbukey and a DJ set by Emel Kurhan.
Headlining the Fame area, an exclusive exhibition, Istanbul Tales, will see 11 designers selected by the president of the Turkish Designers Association, Mehtap Elaidi, exhibit pieces they have created to celebrate their home city.
Also in the Fame area, Dice Kayek will present three dresses from their Istanbul Contrast collection, which won the 2013 Jameel Prize.
This year’s Fashion Schools Contest will see around 10 high profile schools deliver their interpretation of Cappadoce inspired by Turkish-Cypriot designer, Hussein Chalayan, while elsewhere Turkish concept store, Midnight Express, will host a style exhibit based on four famous Turkish actresses.
Guests are invited to take a break the Turkish way, with the Caykuzi tea-bar set up in the central walkway hosting free tea-tastings, while famous chef Maksut Askar offering his modern take on his country’s cuisine.
