Air and Grace was named Best Independent Business of the Year at London’s inaugural Stylist Live Retail Awards. The exclusive awards, which are open to all Stylist Live exhibitors, celebrates the work of the showcasing brands and the people behind them. The London footwear brand was recognised by the event’s judges as an entrepreneurial retailer that stands out against the high street due to its luxuriously comfortable yet stylish footwear, which features its own patented Tender Loving Air technology.

Since launching in 2013, Air and Grace has won a range of awards including the top prize in Metro newspaper’s search for the brands of the future, securing it £150K investment plus additional investment from Michael Acton Smith. It also scooped the Footwear Friends Award for Innovation, Smarta’s One to Watch and the UKFT Buyers Den competition, securing distribution in John Lewis.

The brand’s accomplishments are due to the vision of its founder, ex footwear buyer Claire Burrows, who has worked with international brands including Kury Geiger and Fitflop. She comments: “For Air and Grace to be chosen by Stylist Live is nothing short of a dream come true. It’s an absolute honour to be recognised by such a prestigious publication as a small business of only four years old. Thank you to the judges for bestowing the award based on the brand’s ability to breakthrough in a crowded marketplace, due to our unprecedented combination of comfort and style.”

Its combination of style and patented technology has been the brand increase its revenue by over 200 per cent on last year, despite the continually challenging trading environment.
