British heritage brand Barbour has launched a new range of lightweight 4oz waxed cotton garments designed especially for spring and early autumn. Boasting all the benefits and protection of its traditional waxed cotton garments, the new jackets have been created with a new special blend of waxes and oils to provide a high level of protection while weighing around 30 per cent less.
The latest garments are made from American medium staple and pima cotton fibre spun into a very high quality yarn to create a strong, pristine cotton fabric that is both lightweight and robust. Dyed and finished in Scotland by Halley Stevensons, one of the leading wax suppliers, the garments come with cotton linings, lightweight corduroy collars, zips and other trims to further reduce the weight.
Ian Bergin, director of menswear for Barbour, comments: “We are excited to offer a new innovative product in our waxed cotton that provides our customers with garments ideal for the spring and early autumn months. This is a time when you still need protection from the wind and rain as the weather can still be changeable but you don’t want to wear a heavier garment. Our lightweight 4oz waxed products will give you all the protection you need from the elements without the weight. The jackets are light, supple and easy to wear and retain the wax well so do not need to be rewaxed very often.”
Like all Barbour waxed products, the Lightweight 4oz waxed jackets can be rewaxed, either by returning to Barbour’s customer services or rewaxing at home using a special tin of lightweight 4oz wax.
