This weekend, 4-5 September, Birmingham will welcome a global designer line-up to showcase their SS16 collections as part of the third edition of Birmingham International Fashion Week.
The UK industry’s key influencers will descend on Birmingham’s Macdonald Burlington Hotel to get a first view of new collections from designers including Australian brand Green Embassy and the USA’s Zintrise Altovise and Sheron Mar.
A certified organic haute couture eco-fashion label, Green Embassy offers a luxurious take on slow fashion, fusing organically certified materials with traditional handmade techniques to make wearable art pieces. Louisiana-born designer Zintrise Altovise focuses on pieces to instil her wearers with strength, beauty and self-confidence. Working as a style consultant, Altovise has also worked with various non-profits over the past 20 years. Also travelling over from the States, Georgia-based Sheron Mar is renowned for contemporary but inherently feminine ready-to-wear with a wide range of casual and formal wear sure to impress buyers from home and abroad.
Following its successful launch last week, the event’s Fashion Lounge & Showroom will again present buyers with an international range of luxury brands and designers. Elsewhere, future-focused master classes from industry thought-leaders are not to be missed, with discussions on the opportunities and challenges for the international fashion industry.
