Womenswear Independent of the Year 2022
Open to independent multi-brand womenswear retailers, the winner of this award will stock a strong range of brands that suit its target customer while offering an outstanding customer service and shopping experience. Entries should outline a solid business plan, buying strategy and future growth plan as well as evidence that the business is financially successful. Retailers entering this award can stock several categories but womenswear must command its largest percentage of sales.

Independent Group of the Year 2022
Recognising the country’s leading independent group, entrants for this award must operate more than one UK-based multi-brand bricks-and-mortar store. The winner will be an outstanding retail group with commercial success across each of its stores as well as online. Judges will be looking for a great buying strategy and business model with brands that suit its target customer base. The winner will offer an excellent shopping experience and customer service and will be able to demonstrate how this is cohesive across all of its stores and website. Retailers entering this award can carry any category including womenswear, menswear and lifestyle products.

Creative VM Independent of the Year 2022
Rewarding an independent fashion or lifestyle retailer with an outstanding visual merchandising offer, the winner of this award will demonstrate creative excellence in all areas of their bricks-and-mortar store. Entries should outline how they use VM to enhance their overall shopping experience, generating sales and attracting in-store footfall with their store windows and shop floor displays. The winning store will have VM as an integral part of its ongoing strategy and will regularly produce creative and innovative displays that appeal to its target market. Retailers entering this award must stock several brands and only one store can be entered per business/ group.

Social Media Strategy of the Year 2022 – Sponsored by ELISA
This award will celebrate the independent fashion or lifestyle retailer with the best social media channel in the UK. The winning indie will be outshining its competitors on social media across one or several platforms. Its social media channels will be perfectly tailored for its target customer base, offering relevant content that sparks followers and engagement. The winner will be able to demonstrate how it uses social media to boost its in-store and online retail sales as well as offering a community for its customers. It will also be one step ahead of other indies, jumping onto new social media trends in a fast and effective way. Multi-brand independent retailers carrying womenswear, menswear, fashion accessories or lifestyle products can enter this award.

New Independent Retailer of the Year 2022
Open to multi-brand independent retailers that opened after January 2020, this award will celebrate the industry’s most promising start-ups. The winner will have a solid business plan and USP in place alongside a carefully curated range of products that perfectly suits its target customer base. Judges will be looking for a new indie with a strong buying strategy and future growth plan. It will need to demonstrate success despite the challenges of the pandemic. Multi-brand independent retailers carrying womenswear, menswear, fashion accessories or lifestyle products can enter this award.

Sustainable Independent of the Year 2022
New for 2022, this award will celebrate independent fashion/ lifestyle retailers making strides towards operating more sustainably. The winner will be able to demonstrate that they stock a selection of sustainable brands that appeal to its target market. The retailer will also be focused on minimising its own environmental impact wherever possible with an ethos that mirrors its conscious suppliers. Entries should also outline their environmental commitments and action plan for a more sustainable future. Retailers entering this award can stock several categories including womenswear, menswear, childrenswear and lifestyle.

Fashion Agency of the Year 2022
Open to UK-based fashion agencies servicing multi-brand independent retailers, this accolade will offer recognition to the industry’s leading suppliers. The winner will offer an exciting range of commercial brands with strong sell-through rates that have been curated for its target customer. Entrants should be able to demonstrate that they are running a profitable business that offers excellent customer service, healthy margins and year-round support for independent retailers. This award is open to all fashion agencies running a multi-brand operation encompassing womenswear and/or menswear.

British Brand of the Year 2022
Flying the flag for the country’s best independent fashion brands, this award will recognise Britain’s leading womenswear, menswear and accessories labels. Entrants should outline a solid business plan, customer service offering, growth strategy sell-through figures. The winner will be operating a profitable business offering a high quality range of products that appeal to its target market while providing an excellent service to its independent stockists including high margins and aftercare support. This award is open to all independent fashion brands based in the UK.

International Brand of the Year 2022
This award will offer recognition to the best independent fashion brands based outside of the UK. Judges will be looking for a solid business plan, customer service offering, growth strategy and sell-through figures. The winner will be running a profitable business offering a high quality range of products that appeal to its target market while providing an excellent service to its independent stockists including high margins and aftercare support. This award is open to all independent fashion brands based outside of the UK.

Fashion Distributor of the Year 2022
This award will acknowledge the industry’s leading fashion brand distributors across womenswear and menswear. Judges will be looking for a profitable distribution operation that provides an outstanding mix of brands and customer service tailored for its target independent retailers. Its collections will have proven high sell-through rates while it will also actively source new brands or introduce exciting international labels to the UK market. Entrants should be offering year-round support to its indie stockists including healthy margins and aftercare. This award is open to all fashion distributors running a multi-brand operation encompassing womenswear and/or menswear.

International Brand of of the Year 2022
Recognising the best independent fashion brands based outside of the UK, judges for this accolade will be looking for a solid business plan, customer service offering, growth strategy and sell-through figures. The winner will be offering a high quality range of products that appeal to its target market while providing an excellent service to its independent stockists including high margins and aftercare support. This award is open to all independent fashion brands based outside of the UK.

Occasionwear Brand of the Year 2022
Open to brands specialising in women’s occasionwear, this award celebrates the industry’s leading suppliers of special event, evening and wedding guest wear. The winning brand will be able to demonstrate why its collections hold strong appeal for independent boutiques and event shoppers as well as how it supports its retail stockists. Entries should outline a strong business plan, strategy and vision for future growth alongside evidence that it provides an outstanding customer service.

Black-Owned Brand of the Year 2022
A celebration of black-owned fashion brands, this new award will highlight the world’s best labels and collections created by black individuals. Entrants will need to outline a solid business plan, customer service offering, growth strategy and strong sell-through rates. The winner will be operating a profitable business offering a high quality range of products that appeal to its target market while providing an excellent service to its independent stockists including high margins and aftercare support. This award is open to all independent black-owned fashion, accessories and footwear brands in the UK and abroad.

Accessories/ Footwear Brand of the Year 2022
Highlighting remarkable footwear and accessories brands, this new award will be presented to an outstanding business making strides in this competitive product category. Judges will be looking for a solid USP and business plan, customer service offering, growth strategy and strong sell-through rates. The winner will be operating a profitable business offering a high quality range of products that appeal to its target market while providing an excellent service to its independent stockists including high margins and aftercare support. This award is open to all independent footwear and accessories brands based in the UK and abroad.

Sustainable Brand of the Year 2022
New for 2022, this award will celebrate the independent fashion/ lifestyle brands making serious efforts to operate more sustainably. Judges will be looking for a sustainable product range and conscious production process. The brand will be committed to creating its entire range consciously and will be part of a wider eco-friendly supply chain. It will also be focused on minimising its own environmental impact wherever possible using greener materials and adopting less wasteful production and distribution techniques. Lastly, it will be committed to improving its environmental efforts as part of a long-tern plan. This award is open to all independent fashion, lifestyle, accessories and footwear brands based in the UK and abroad.

SPECIAL AWARDS

Lifetime Achievement 2022
Open for nominations only, this award is for an individual that has made an outstanding contribution to the industry. They will be an industry veteran, championing independent retailers throughout their career and aiding the sector’s growth and development. This award is open to anyone working in the independent fashion retail and wholesale community.

Newcomer 2022
This award will recognise an outstanding individual who joined the independent fashion retail community on or after 2020. The winner will be passionate about the industry and contributing to its future success. They will already be a shining star in their current employment and will be eager to play a significant role in the overall industry. The award is open to any individual working on the retail or wholesale side of the industry including retail staff and owners, trade show teams, designers and those working for agencies and distributors.
