Celtic and Co welcomes royal visitor to receive Queen’s Award for Enterprise

Celtic and Co was presented with the Queen’s Award for Enterprise recently at the lifestyle brand’s Newquay HQ. Founders Nick and Kath Whitworth were joined by 45 employees to receive the award from The Lord Lieutenant Colonel Bolitho, the Queen’s representative in Cornwall, alongside Cornwall Council Chairman Councillor Mary May.

Colonel Bolitho was given a full tour of the factory where he was shown how the brand handcrafts its sheepskin footwear and accessories. The tour also covered the warehouse, where it posts its products out to around 80 countries worldwide, as well as the call centre and shop.

After the official presentation of the award and group photograph of the entire team in the sewing department, the brand celebrated with drinks, pasties and cream tea.

The Queen’s Award for Enterprise is one of the UK’s most prestigious business accolades and has been awarded to 230 companies this year – with a record 152 receiving prizes for international trade.
