Industry association Bira has launched a free King’s Coronation weekend toolkit for indies to share their opening times.
The Coronation of King Charles III will take place on Saturday 6 May at Westminster Abbey and the weekend will include a schedule of special events and bank holiday on Monday 8 May.
Retail analysts at Springboard MRI expect a rise in footfall – 12 per cent on the year before – as shoppers gather in town centres for celebrations. The high street is expected to attract more traffic than retail parks and shopping centres, with a 6 per cent rise on Monday 8 May compared to the previous week’s May Day Bank Holiday.
