Coventry-based footwear trade show Sole Fashion postponed until 2021

The August edition of footwear trade show Sole Fashion is now postponed until 2021. The event debuted in February at Coventry’s Ricoh Arena, attracting brands including Rieker, Josef Seibel, Gardiner Bros, Bugatti, Mephisto and HB Shoes.

Many events have been cancelled across the UK and Europe following the coronavirus crisis.

On the cancellation organiser Penny Robinson said this is “an incredibly challenging time for everyone.”  She says: “Due to the extraordinary pressures retailers and brands continue to face this season coupled with the uncertainty surrounding the safety of events, I have taken the difficult decision to postpone the upcoming edition of Sole Fashion. It is incredibly disappointing, particularly after the support we received for the first edition.”

Discussions are currently taking place with the show’s venue and Robinson says as soon as the industry is ready it will launch new dates for the second edition. “I am optimistic that the proposition of a cost effective, quality trade show from an independent organiser will be even more relevant when we emerge of the other side of this,” she concludes.
