Free webinar programme to help indies safeguard their businesses against cyberattacks

Small Business Britain and BT have partnered to launch a free four-week webinar series designed to help small businesses improve their cyber security and protect themselves against growing online threats.

The Staying Safe & Sound: Cyber for Small Business programme will run every Thursday throughout June, offering practical advice on spotting cyber threats, protecting business data and creating incident response plans.

The launch comes as 43 per cent of businesses report experiencing some form of cyber security breach or attack within the past 12 months.

The webinar series will cover topics including strengthening day-to-day security practices, protecting teams and systems and improving cyber resilience across businesses of all sizes.

The four-module programme includes:

  • Module 1: Thursday 4 June, 10am-11am
  • Module 2: Thursday 11 June, 10am-11am
  • Module 3: Thursday 18 June, 10am-11am
  • Module 4: Thursday 25 June, 10am-11am

According to Small Business Britain and BT, the series is designed for both sole traders and growing teams, with a focus on practical and accessible guidance rather than technical jargon.

The organisations say the aim is to help businesses take “clear, practical steps” towards improving cyber security and protecting customers, systems and business data.

BT Digital Skills is partnering with Small Business Britain to deliver digital skills to small businesses across the UK.

Businesses can register for the webinar series via Small Business Britain’s sign-up page.
