Originally born in Italy in 1977, Garcia Jeans founders Maurizio and Isabel Garcia joined forces with Dutch company Eurobrooks to create a globally respected denim brand. Today the Netherlands-based company produces men’s and women’s jeans for the 18 to 45-year-old market alongside coordinating separates, outerwear, knitwear and accessories. For SS17, the collection has been inspired by past icons of art, music, science and fashion – including Charles Darwin, Marcel Duchamp, Cecile Beaton, Pablo Picasso and Nina Simone. Buyers can expect clean lines, minimalist check prints, monochrome and colourful illustrations and prints. The line is split into two for the cooler spring months and high summer, with cosy pieces such as a Scuba crepe trench coat and grey knit yarns followed by casual fine knits and sleeveless blazers. Denim-wise the Celia wide leg is set to be a staple alongside cut-off and frayed jeans that look perfect teamed with effortless blouses.
