Famed for its super-flattering fits and eye-catching prints, Ingenue London is a versatile and modern collection with a feminine edge. The label was created by founder Mena Ryan in February 2012 and has become a firm boutique favourite thanks to its high margins and sell-through potential. “We focus on high quality fabrics with a tactile finish that customers can’t resist,” she says. “And of course there’s always a focus on great prints.”
For AW14 the label’s design team has focused on daywear, offering a wide range of chic dresses and separates that can be worn to the office. But as with all of Ingenue’s pieces, they can also be dressed up for the evening, taking customers from boardroom to bar. Standout styles include the long-sleeved Nessi with a cowl neck detail and the knee-length Sydney, which both feature the label’s signature cinched in waists and figure enhancing fits that aim to flatter every shape. Meanwhile, this season also sees the reincarnation of summer’s popular Megan jumpsuit but with longer sleeves for cooler weather.
Ryan believes that staying unique in a competitive marketplace is the main reason behind Ingenue’s popularity among indies: “We stay true to what our customers want but with a focus on looking forward to new ideas,” she says. “For us it’s about to our customers wants and needs.”
The label supports its stockists by carrying stock in-season “to help customers focus on cash flow efficiency and hot selling styles.” And with wholesale prices ranging from £16 to £40, there’s a knockout dress, jumpsuit or separate waiting to catch the eye of every customer.
