The Jewellery & Watch show celebrated the best in buying talent across the industry as the winners of the 2016 Buyers Power List were crowned at the recent spring edition.
Culminating day two of the show – which was held at Birmingham’s NEC from 7-11 February – a champagne and dinner reception welcomed brands and buyers to toast the work of the shortlisted companies and individuals, before the winners were announced by the show’s portfolio director Julie Driscoll and and Peter A Anderson, president of Western Europe at awards sponsor Pandora.
The first award of the evening was Best Multiple Retailer, dedicated to stores with six or more outlet, and went to acclaimed retailer Fraser Hart. Next, Best Department Store was awarded to John Lewis, while Watches of Switzerland, known for providing a high-class luxury purchasing experience, was crowned the Best Watch Retailer.
The award for Best Heritage Site, Museum or Gallery was awarded to The National Gallery and the award for Best Independent Retailer went to Hugh Rice.
Allison Aldridge from Neil & Baker was awarded with Best Individual Buyer. Aldridge was present to collect the award and commented: ”I am very surprised to win this award. It is an absolute honor. We have been with Pandora since the beginning. It has been a great evening, I couldn’t have done it without the support of our suppliers in the industry. I never in a million years thought I would win!”
