Joe Browns opens first standalone store

Womenswear label Joe Browns has opened its first bricks-and-mortar store in Meadowhall. The British brand was previously sold via mail order and online channels as well as through independent stockists.

The 4,000 sq ft store, located on the Sheffield shopping centre’s High Street, was designed by creative agency Dalziel and Pow and brings to life the bold persona of the brand and its distinctive handwriting. Crammed full of visually interesting pieces and inspiring design features, the eclectic space immerses customers in Joe Browns’ colourful world.

Commenting on the launch of the debut store, Richard Crowther, asset manager for Meadowhall owner British Land, says: “This opening is an exciting step for Joe Browns, and as its very first physical location, a testament to Meadowhall’s appeal as a leading UK retail and leisure destination.  Pure play e-tailers making the move into bricks and mortar is something we expect to see an increase in over the next couple of years and we are proud to support it as part of our work to create a modern and diverse retail offer that reflects the way people shop.”

Joe Browns Meadowhall opening coincides with the conclusion of the centre’s £60m refurbishment plan, which will be completed by the end of November.
