French outerwear specialist, K-Way, has opened its first UK store in London’s Shoreditch as part of the brand’s UK expansion plans, ahead of its 50th anniversary next year.
The new two-floor 870sq ft store occupies a high-visibility corner space on the outer perimeter of Shoreditch fashion retail destination, Spitalfields Market.
Designed by the in-house retail team at K-Way’s UK brand licensee, GLD Group, the store presents a clean and modern aesthetic ideal to showcase the brand’s colourful weatherproof outerwear.
“We now have the opportunity to build on K-Way’s current success in the UK,” says Simon Bamber, chief executive of GLD Group. “We are already working with some of the finest retailers in the country and with the correct investment in infrastructure, marketing and retail, we plan for K-Way to scale up in terms of distribution, own-retail presence and price architecture.”
The luxury-led outwear brand is looking at opening additional units in 2015 and will also celebrate 50 years with a marketing campaign including digital and social media activities designed to target K-Way’s young fashion-led consumer base.
K-Way also plans to introduce a broader spectrum of trend-led technical outwear next year, with new styles taken from the more premium Italian K-Way collection.
