British jewellery e-tailer Gemporia has launched a new technology initiative that aims to revolutionise customers’ online experience and bring a personal level of service to the digital sphere .
Virtual In-Store Retailing (VIStailing) is designed to give customers an online experience to mimic shopping in-store. Retaining the brand’s existing site layout, VIStailing allows customers to directly communicate with The Diamond Room’s expert staff via video-chat.
The virtual access provides a 360-degree level of service; customers can see product in real time with staff demonstrating the jewellery rather than depend on cut-out and model imagery.
Launched on 20 January, this new service has been developed to enhance the decision-making process specifically for purchasing engagement rings. Staff are fully-trained to answer any product enquiries and offer alternative options for customers’ true preferences rather than automated suggestions based on popular product searches.
