New parcel delivery service, Local Letterbox, is set to revolutionise the way customers receive their deliveries from e-tailers, with its Parcelpods concept currently being trialed at a busy London head office location ahead of its full UK launch later this year.

Local Letterbox is set to be the only dedicated network of parcel shops and Parcelpods in the UK, offering customers a new and more convenient way to collect, return and send their parcels. Unlike third party delivery operators, it will also boast its own fully-trained staff on hand to offer assistance, while on-site changing rooms will allow customers to try on their purchases and do any necessary returns on the spot.

Commenting on the trial, Local Letterbox chief operating officer, Zoë Ombler, said: “Feedback already received has proved that staff find the concept of being able to try on and immediately return non-suitable items very attractive. With locations planned in areas that mean customers won’t need to vary their daily routine to collect, return or send a parcel we are confident that Local Letterbox will prove ideal for anyone leading a busy lifestyle.”

A minimum of 500 Parcelpods will be opened throughout the UK by the end of this year, and will be situated in convenient locations such as supermarkets and gyms through to universities, convenience stores and railway stations.

All will be open a minimum of six days a week from 6am – 9pm, with some open much longer in high-density areas.
