London’s Browns boutique acquired by Farfetch

London’s famous Browns boutique has been acquired by luxury online fashion retailer, Farfetch.

The acquisition sees Browns become a member of Farfetch’s international community of elite independent fashion retailers, evolving the brand both offline and online.

Browns will continue to run independently from the Farfetch business and will be led by Holli Rogers, who joins the iconic brand in the role of CEO having formerly held the role of fashion director at Net-a-Porter. Mrs Joan Burstein, Browns founder and famed industry figure, will be appointed honorary chairman while her children Simon and Caroline Burstein will remain as advisors to the business with seats on the board of directors.

Farfetch plans to develop and test new innovations in omni-channel retail technology at Browns, before rolling them out across the online platform’s full network of over 300 boutiques.
