Indian designer, Manish Arora, has opened his first flagship store in Paris following the success of his label’s residence at Galleries Lafayette and the Galerie Joyce pop-up shop in 2013.
The label has a strong connection to the French capital as Arora has hosted his catwalk shows there since 2007, and the designer is also a member of the Fédération française de la Couture, du Prêt à Porter des Couturiers et des Créateurs de Mode.
Known for his colourful designs, the designer chose the exclusive address of rue Rouget-de-L’Isle, nestled between the Tuileries garden and rue Saint-Honoré to set up the new boutique. Architect Riccardo Haiat, of the eponymous Milan-Paris based studio, designed the space to combine the strong, colourful look of Manish Arora with the elegance of its new Parisian home.
The 130 sq ft space has been fitted out with coloured glass panels and signature pink and gold has been used across the in-store furniture, fittings and displays. The boutique will house Manish Arora’s ready-to-wear collections, accessories and a curated selection of the designer’s favourite items, such as Varanasi toys, artworks and trinkets.
Selected pieces from the Indian by Manish Arora collection, which has previously been exclusive to the Indian market, will also be available in-store, while the back of the space will be dedicated to exhibitions, showroom presentations and private events, creating the ultimate retail and exhibition space for the brand’s new Parisian headquarters.
