Retail expert Mary Portas will take to the stage at Autumn Fair on Tuesday to share her latest insights with buyers and industry insiders. The author, broadcaster and businesswoman will join Forbes’ Retail Contributor Mark Faithfull on the show’s Inspiring Retail Stage for an insightful conversation about succeeding in today’s climate.
Known as the “Queen of Shops”, Mary’s latest book Rebuild draws on her decades of retail experience to advise businesses on how they can thrive in the new ‘kindness economy.’ During her talk at Autumn Fair she will discuss how retailers can adopt kinder behaviours to win over shoppers as well as explaining how building relationships with customers is key to successful retailing in 2022.
The premise of Mary’s new book discusses how the way we live, buy and sell is changing – and argues that it is now time for brands to put people and planet before profit.
Victoria Pope, head of content at Autumn Fair, comments: “Mary Portas is a retail powerhouse and her new guiding principles of the Kindness Economy offer a common sense and practical approach to moving forward and rebuilding for a new era of doing business. Her talks are always fascinating, and our visitors come away inspired with invaluable insights and advice.”
Mary Portas will be on Autumn Fair’s Inspiring Retail Stage at 1.30pm on Tuesday 6 September. Find out more about the show, which takes place from 4-7 September at Birmingham NEC, here.
