Pulse champions emerging design talent

As one of the largest UK trade shows dedicated to uncovering the world’s finest emerging designers, Pulse has confirmed a selection of platforms for upcoming talent at its 2016 edition taking place next week.

As well as the existing Launchpad – the hub of new design talent at Pulse – the freshest emerging design can also be found within the highly curated platforms Raw, UAL Now and Secret Emporium.

Raw (main image) presents a collection of 15 gift, homewares and fashion brands that have been trading for less than one year. Start-up highlights include Lauriger (Stand R18), a curation of luxury homeware from leading European designers within the art world, and Anna Hayman’s (Stand R15) bright, modern and playful printed ceramics, textiles and stationery.

University of the Arts London (UAL) marks its tenth year at Pulse in May with UAL Now. The showcase  highlights 14 of the most exciting emerging talent from University of the Arts London with a  diverse range of products including everything from ceramics and homeware to greetings cards and fashion  accessories. Beatrice Larkin (stand UAL) will present her beautiful woven functional fabrics for  interiors, while Cox & Bruach’s (stand UAL) innovative printed homeware offer playful and intriguing surfaces with an intelligent use of colour.

Returning for its second year, Secret Emporium offers a creative platform for independent design talent to present a curated exhibit of innovative fashion accessories and jewellery.  Highlights include Wolf & Moon (Stand SE1), the handcrafted jewellery label by British designer Hannah  Davis, and Dark Horse Ornament (Stand SE4), the off-beat, British accessories label established by designer Jenny Hattersley.

An exciting new addition for 2016 is Found a brand new trail of discovery around the show dedicated entirely to bringing unseen international design brands to Pulse. An exclusive collection of over 40 designers from around the globe will showcase the most inspiring and cutting-edge products in fashion, interiors and  giftware.
Highlights include Amsterdam based design collective, Puik Art (stand D11) who will showcase their innovative and original products by young Dutch designers, and.Zonnelijk (stand J59), a UK based distributor for dutch designers, offering a range of well thought out products. Paper products, homewares, gifts and stationery all feature in the range which both eco-friendly and ethically produced.
