Samsøe Samsøe’s Instagram account is now live after being temporarily blocked by the social media platform at the beginning of February. The Copenhagen-based brand says Instagram shut its account down following the launch of its AW22 digital catwalk presentation, classifying some of the traffic it attracted as spam.

“The result of the account shutdown meant tremendous loss of reach during one of most re-shared and loved presentations for Samsøe Samsøe,” says Sofie Niebuhr, Samsøe Samsøe’s head of PR and marketing. “We’re very saddened by the fact that we’ve lost a momentum we can never get back.”
As soon as its page was blocked, the team at Samsøe Samsøe began working behind the scenes to get it reactivated – and receive answers about the cause. “We cannot say anything for certain as Instagram does not share this information,” adds Niebuhr. “We may never know why, but our immediate conclusion is that we were subjected with a blocking or cyber-attack of the account.”
Samsøe Samsøe is encouraging followers to engage with its Instagram posts incase the deactivation has had a detrimental effect on the algorithm.
