London couture bridal designer, Emma Hunt, is launching a collection of Little Black Dresses with a view to bring artisan British design to the luxury retail scene.
With 16 years as a purveyor of quality and craftsmanship for discerning brides, Wimbledon-based designer Hunt has now turned her expertise to creating timelessly elegant dresses that offer a little luxury for the every day as well as for special occasions. Using only the finest fabrics, with pure silk inside and out, and home-sourced British lace, the dresses are all individually crafted in the London studio.
But in order to bring the collection to life, Hunt is looking for supporters to get behind the project and back it through the crowd funding platform, Kickstarter. Funding will allow her to keep production of the collection in the UK and go on to take the collection to independent boutiques across the UK.
With exporting production often the norm in fashion manufacturing, this is a chance to champion home grown design and help a London designer to produce quality, British-made womenswear.
By supporting the project, you will also get the opportunity to pre-order pieces for your own wardrobe for exclusive launch prices, up to a third of their eventual retail price. There are only 30 of each style available though, so you’ll have to move quickly to get your hands on your favourite dress!
Hunt commented, “I’m asking for support from the UK’s indies and boutiques who believe in championing British design and who appreciate craftsmanship. As designers and retailers, we have a responsibility to offer well-made and beautiful items to our customers, and I’m confident women across the UK are ready to invest in quality, gorgeous dresses. Women who will be proud to wear handmade British design.”

The Kickstarter campaign runs on a limited timeline, and Hunt needs to reach her funding target by 2nd October 2014, or else the project receives nothing.
All pre-orders and pledges must be received by 5pm on 2nd October 2014.
